Cape Verdean diaspora
The Cape Verdean diaspora means people from Cape Verde who move to live in other parts of the world. Today, more Cape Verdeans live outside of Cape Verde than inside it.
Many Cape Verdean families and communities have made new homes in different places. They still keep their culture and traditions from Cape Verde very much alive.
The United States has the most Cape Verdeans living away from home. Some famous people of Cape Verdean descent include Michael Beach, an American actor, and Blu Cantrell, a famous singer. There are also many talented musicians, athletes, and artists from this background all around the world.
People from Cape Verde have moved to many countries. In Africa, you can find them in Angola, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, and South Africa. In Europe, many live in the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and Ireland. In North America, there are Cape Verdeans in the United States and Cuba. In South America, they live in Argentina, Brazil, and Bolivia.
