Welcome to Chengdu!

Chengdu is a big, busy city in China. It is the capital of the Sichuan province and has over 20 million people living there. Chengdu is known as the heart of Western China and sits in the middle of the Chengdu Plain.

A City with History

Chengdu has a very long history. People have lived there for thousands of years. The city has kept its name for more than two thousand years! During a difficult time called World War II, Chengdu was a safe place for people from eastern China. Today, Chengdu is important for business, culture, and many industries like making machines, cars, medicine, food, and information technology.

Famous for Pandas

One of the most famous things about Chengdu is the giant panda. These cute bears are a symbol of China, and Chengdu has a special place called the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding where people help pandas live and grow.

A Busy Travel Spot

Chengdu is a very busy place for travel. It has two big airports and many ways to get around, like trains, buses, and subways. The city is also known for its universities and research centers, where people study and learn new things.
