Congo Clawless Otter
The Congo clawless otter is a special kind of animal that lives in many parts of middle Africa. You can find them in countries like Angola, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These otters enjoy living near water, such as rivers, lakes, and swamps.
Congo clawless otters look different from other otters. They have soft, thick fur and long tails. Their front feet do not have any webbing, which makes them special. They use their sensitive front paws to find food, like small land animals, frogs, and eggs.
These otters spend more time on land than other otters. They create areas called territories and use special scents to mark them. When baby otters are born, they are white and change to their adult brownish-white color when they are about two months old.
People sometimes catch these otters for food or use their fur to make drums, which can be hard for the otters. That’s why it’s important to protect the places where they live.
