What is a Cube?

A cube is a special 3D shape with six square faces. All the edges are the same length, and it has eight corners. Imagine a box that is the same on all sides—this is a cube!

Cubes are very useful. We see them in toys, buildings, and even in nature. For example, tiny pieces of salt often grow in cube shapes. People have loved cubes for a long time. Ancient thinkers wrote about them and how they fit into the world.

Fun Facts About Cubes

Cubes are used in many games. Dice in board games are small cubes. There are also fun puzzles like the magic cube toy. In some computer games, the world is made of little cube blocks.

In science, cubes help us measure space. If a cube is one unit long on each side, it shows how much space something takes up. Cubes can also fit together perfectly to fill a big space, like pieces of a puzzle.
