The One-Eyed Helpers

In old stories from Greece, the Cyclopes were big, strong giants with just one eye in the middle of their foreheads. They were known for their strength and special skills.

Helping the Gods

Three Cyclopes brothers—Brontes, Steropes, and Arges—helped the gods make very special things. They made Zeus's thunderbolt, Poseidon's trident, and Hades's special helmet. Their work was very important to the gods.

Big Stone Walls

Some people believe that Cyclopes helped build very big, strong walls around old cities like Mycenae and Tiryns. These walls were made of huge stones and are still amazing to see today.

Where They Lived

Old stories often placed the Cyclopes on the island of Sicily and nearby Aeolian islands. These places are close to famous volcanoes like Mount Etna, which may have inspired the stories about these one-eyed giants.

The Cyclopes are remembered for their strength and the important things they helped create in ancient tales.
