David L. Rabinowitz

David Lincoln Rabinowitz is an American astronomer. He was born in 1960 and works at Yale University. There, he studies the universe and its tiny objects that float around the Sun.

Rabinowitz is known for discovering many small rocky worlds called minor planets. These little planets orbit the Sun and help scientists learn more about our Solar System. His work is very important for understanding space.

He made special cameras and software to find objects both close to Earth and far away in space. This helped him and other experts find interesting and distant objects, like 90377 Sedna, 90482 Orcus, Eris, Haumea, and Makemake. These discoveries teach us more about what exists far from our planet.

Because of his important work, a small space rock was named 5040 Rabinowitz in his honor. This shows how much people respect his discoveries and his help in learning about space.
