What is Email?

Email is a fun way to send and get messages using computers and the internet. It is like regular mail, but much faster! People can send emails from anywhere in the world.

Emails can have pictures, words, or other things like games attached to them. You can see new emails on a page called the “Inbox.” This page lets you read, save, or answer messages.

How Does Email Work?

When someone sends an email, it travels through many computers until it reaches the person who will read it. You can open emails using a computer, phone, or even a website. Some popular websites for email are Gmail and Yahoo! Mail.

Emails have parts like “To” and “From” to show who sent and got the message. Each email also has a special address, which looks like a name followed by the symbol @ and a domain name.

Why Do We Use Email?

Email helps people talk quickly without calling or meeting. It is used in schools, offices, and by families all over the world. Even though many young people like to text or use social media, email is still very important for sending messages to friends, family, and work.

Emails can also carry special files called attachments, like pictures or homework. Most email services let you send files up to about 25MB, but bigger things need other ways to share.
