Friedrich Schiller

Friedrich Schiller was a famous German writer. He was born on November 10, 1759, in Marbach. His family was Protestant, and they lived in a beautiful part of Germany.
When Friedrich was young, he went to a special school called the Karlsschule Stuttgart. There, he wrote his first play called The Robbers. People loved it, and it made him very famous.
Later, Friedrich moved to Weimar. There, he met another famous writer named Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. They became best friends and worked together. They made wonderful plays and poems. One of their fun projects was a collection of short poems called Xenien.
Friedrich wrote many important plays and poems. One of his most famous poems, Ode to Joy, was used in a famous music piece by Ludwig van Beethoven. Many musicians loved his words and turned them into beautiful songs.
Friedrich Schiller passed away on May 9, 1805. Today, many places remember him with statues and special squares, like Schillerplatz in Stuttgart. He is one of Germany’s most loved writers.
