Golf at the Summer Olympics
Golf is a fun game played by many people around the world. It has been part of the Summer Olympic Games, but not always. The first time golf was in the Olympics was in the year 1900, and then again in 1904. After that, golf was planned for the Olympics in 1908 and 1920, but those games were cancelled.
In 2009, leaders decided to bring golf back to the Olympics. It returned for the 2016 Summer Olympics. The International Golf Federation helps organize golf in the Olympics. Players get to compete by having good rankings in golf. The best players from different countries play, making it a fun test of skill.
Golf has been enjoyed by many players from many places. The United States has been very successful, winning many medals. Other countries like Great Britain, New Zealand, and Canada have also done well. Golf in the Olympics is a special event where players show off their great skills on famous courses around the world.
