Green Bay, Wisconsin

Green Bay is a lovely city in Brown County, Wisconsin, in the United States. It sits where the Fox River meets Lake Michigan, a spot close to the Green Bay inlet. This special place has been home to many people for a very long time.

Long ago, many indigenous tribes, like the Menominee and Ho-Chunk, lived in this area. In 1634, a French explorer named Jean Nicolet visited and started a place for trading fur. Back then, the land was part of New France. Later, more people from Europe came to live there.

Today, Green Bay is best known for the Green Bay Packers, a very popular team in the National Football League. People all over love to cheer for them!

Green Bay has four seasons: warm summers and cold, snowy winters. The city has many parks and lakes where families can play and have fun together. There are also many places to learn, like the Neville Public Museum and the National Railroad Museum in nearby Ashwaubenon.

The city has many special events throughout the year, like the Green Bay Film Festival and ArtStreet, where artists share their work with everyone. Shopping spots like East Town Mall and Bay Park Square offer lots of things to see and buy.

Green Bay is led by a mayor chosen by voters. Since 2019, the mayor has been Eric Genrich. The city has many schools, including East High School and West High School, as well as the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay.

The city has an airport named Green Bay–Austin Straubel International Airport in the nearby town of Ashwaubenon. Buses travel around the city through Green Bay Metro, making it easy to get around.

Green Bay also has a sister city named Irapuato in Guanajuato, Mexico. The cities became sister cities in 2006, showing friendship across the world.
