Hagia Sophia
Hagia Sophia is a very special building located in Istanbul, Turkey. It has a long and interesting history. People have used it in many different ways over the years. Today, it is a place where people from all over the world come to visit and learn.
Hagia Sophia was first built as a church a long time ago. It was the biggest indoor space in the world when it was finished in the year 537. The building was designed by two clever architects. It has a huge round dome that looks very impressive. Inside, you can see beautiful decorations, like colorful pictures called mosaics and shiny marble pillars.
The building has changed a lot over time. It was once a church, then became a mosque, and later was a museum. Because of its amazing design and rich history, Hagia Sophia is one of the most visited places in the world. People love to see its big dome, lovely decorations, and learn about its past.
Inside Hagia Sophia, there are many special things to see. There is a Wishing Column that visitors touch for good luck. There are also big marble urns brought from faraway places. The building still shows signs of its different roles throughout history, making it a wonderful place to explore.
