Hangzhou has been around for a very long time, since 221 BC. It was once called Qiantang and later Hangzhou. The city grew and became important for trade and culture. Today, Hangzhou is a busy city with many big companies and science activities. Famous companies like Alibaba Group have offices here.

One of Hangzhou’s most famous spots is West Lake, a special area recognized by the world. West Lake has old towers, hills, and tea fields.
