Harry Nyquist
Harry Theodor Nyquist was a clever scientist and engineer. He was born on February 7, 1889, in a small village called Nilsby in Sweden. In 1907, he moved to the United States.
Harry studied at the University of North Dakota and later got a science degree from Yale University. He worked at AT&T and then at the Bell Telephone Laboratories until he retired in 1954.
Harry made important discoveries that help us send information today. One of his big ideas is called the Nyquist theorem. This idea helps make music recordings, television, and the internet work better.
Because of his smart work, Harry Nyquist received many awards. He will always be remembered for helping create better ways to share information around the world.
