What is a Honeycomb?

A honeycomb is a special home made by honey bees. Bees build tiny, six-sided rooms from beeswax to keep their babies, food, and more. These rooms fit together like puzzle pieces, so bees can use space very well.

How Bees Make It

Bees work very hard to make wax. They need a lot of honey to make just a little wax. Beekeepers sometimes take out honeycombs to collect the sweet honey. After that, they can give the wax back to the bees to build new homes.

Fun to Eat

Honeycomb can also be a yummy snack! It is sweet and comes straight from the bees’ home. People enjoy eating it as a special treat.
