Who Are the Hungarians?

The Hungarians, also called Magyars, are a special group of people from Hungary. They share a unique language, culture, and history. Their language is different from many others in Europe because it belongs to the Uralic language family, which also includes languages like the Khanty and Mansi.

Where Do They Live?

Most Hungarians live in Hungary, a beautiful country in Central Europe. But you can also find Hungarians in many other places. Some live in nearby countries like Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, and Austria. There are also big communities in faraway places such as the United States, Canada, Germany, and Australia. These people are part of the Hungarian diaspora and work hard to keep their traditions alive.

Interesting Facts

Hungarians have a rich culture with colorful folk costumes, lively dances like the Csárdás, and important symbols such as the mythical bird Turul. They love the wide-open plains called the Puszta, where they have many fun traditions. Even though their language is special, Hungarians have made many contributions to the world and are proud of their unique heritage.
