The International Skating Union
The International Skating Union (ISU) is a special group that helps make rules and organize fun competitions for people who love to skate on ice. It started a long time ago, in 1892, in a place called Scheveningen in the Netherlands. Today, the ISU works from Switzerland.
The ISU looks after many kinds of ice skating. This includes figure skating, where skaters spin and jump beautifully. There is also synchronized skating, where teams of skaters move together like a dance. And of course, there is speed skating, where skaters race to see who can go the fastest!
Every year, the ISU holds big competitions called "ISU Championships." These events bring together skaters from all around the world. They compete in different categories, and the best ones get shiny medals.
The ISU also makes sure that everyone follows the same rules. This way, all the skaters have a fair chance to show off their skills. The ISU works with people from many countries, making ice skating a fun and exciting sport for everyone.
