John F. Kennedy International Airport

John F. Kennedy International Airport, often called JFK, is one of the biggest airports in the United States. It is a special place where people from all over the world come to travel. The airport is located on the southwestern shore of Long Island in Queens, a part of New York City.

JFK Airport is very important for international travel in North America. It has five large buildings where people check in before their flights and four long strips of land where airplanes take off and land. Many big airlines, like American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and JetBlue, use JFK as one of their main places to fly from.

The airport started in 1948 and was first named New York International Airport, or Idlewild Airport. It was later renamed to honor John F. Kennedy, a former U.S. president, after he passed away in 1963. Today, JFK is a busy hub for travelers visiting or leaving New York City and nearby areas.

You can reach JFK by train, bus, or car. The AirTrain JFK is a special train that stops at every passenger terminal and also goes to nearby subway and train stations. There are also buses, taxis, and ride cars to help you get to and from the airport. The airport has many parking spots for cars, plus places to get food and fill up gas.

JFK Airport has five active terminals with many gates for airplanes. These terminals are connected by the AirTrain system and access roads. The terminals are used by many airlines from different countries, making JFK a true gateway to the world. The airport is always growing, with new terminals and updates to welcome even more passengers and flights in the future.
