John Heminges

Early Life
John Heminges was born on November 25, 1566, in Droitwich, a town in England. When he was twelve years old, he went to London to work for a grocer. In 1588, he married a woman named Rebecca Knell, and they had many children together.
Acting Career
In 1593, John started acting with a theater group. He later joined a very famous group called the King's Men, where William Shakespeare also worked. John acted in many plays, including some written by Shakespeare and another writer named Ben Jonson. He shared the stage with Shakespeare sometimes.
Important Work
John Heminges and his friend Henry Condell did something very important. In 1623, they helped make a big book called the First Folio. This book collected all of Shakespeare's plays in one place, so people could keep reading and enjoying his wonderful stories.
Besides acting, John also helped manage the King's Men group. He made sure the group had money and helped connect them with important people in London. His work helped keep theater alive and exciting for everyone to enjoy.
