John Maynard Keynes
John Maynard Keynes was a clever man from Cambridge, England. He was born on 5 June 1883 and passed away in 1946. People remember him for changing how we think about money and economies.
Keynes studied mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Later, he learned about economics and started sharing his ideas. He believed that during hard times, like the Great Depression, governments should help by spending money to create jobs.
In 1936, Keynes wrote a big book called The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money. This book helped change old ideas about economics. His thoughts were used by many countries to build stronger economies after World War II.
Keynes came from a loving family. His father was an economist, and his mother became a mayor in their town. He had two siblings who also did great things. Even though he never had children, Keynes used his money to support art, theaters, and music schools. He loved collecting art and books, including works by famous artists and scientists.
