Karl Marx

Karl Marx was a clever thinker from Germany. He was born in Trier in 1818 and lived until 1883. Marx loved to read and write about big ideas. He grew up in a family that liked learning new things.

Marx went to school and later studied at the University of Bonn and the University of Berlin. He learned about famous thinkers like Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. In 1843, Marx married Jenny von Westphalen and moved to Paris. There, he met his good friend Friedrich Engels. Together, they wrote important books.

One of their famous books is The Communist Manifesto. In this book, they talked about how workers could help make the world better. Marx also wrote a big book called Das Kapital about money and work. His ideas helped change many places around the world.

Marx had seven children, but only three grew up. He liked to write and think about how societies work. Even though he had health problems, he kept working hard. Marx passed away in London in 1883 and was buried in Highgate Cemetery. People still talk about his ideas today.
