Korean Architecture
Korean architecture is a special way of building that has grown over many years in Korea. People in Korea make buildings that look nice and work well with nature. You can often recognize Korean buildings by their gentle, sloping roofs. These roofs help water run off easily, keeping the buildings dry.
Traditional Korean homes had different rooms for guests and family. Special rooms for guests were called sarangchae, and private rooms for family were called anchae. Even big houses for important families showed careful design and balance.
One fun fact is that Korean buildings often have a special space between the inside and outside. This space, called a "kan," helps decide how big the building will be. Famous old buildings include the Namdaemun Gate in Seoul and temples with beautiful wooden halls.
Today, Korean architecture mixes old ideas with new technology. Modern buildings in cities like Seoul show clever designs that fit into the country's many mountains. Korean architecture respects both the land and the culture, making spaces that are both beautiful and useful.
