Lake Sammamish

Lake Sammamish is a beautiful freshwater lake just 8 miles east of Seattle in King County, Washington. It stretches 7 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, with its deepest point reaching 105 feet. This lovely lake sits between Lake Washington to the west and the Sammamish Plateau to the east, going from Issaquah in the south to Redmond in the north.

The lake is fed by Issaquah Creek and drains into Lake Washington through the Sammamish River. For many years, native people have called this place sc̓ababš, meaning "little lake." Around the lake, you can find many fun places to visit. At the north end is Marymoor Park, and at the south end is Lake Sammamish State Park. You can also visit Idylwood Park in Redmond or Vasa Park Resort in Bellevue to enjoy the water.

People love spending time at Lake Sammamish. You can try rowing, fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, tubing, or jet skiing. The lake is full of fish like perch, smallmouth bass, and largemouth bass. It is a wonderful spot for families and friends to have fun together.
