Lower Austria

Lower Austria is one of the nine states of Austria. It is the largest state in Austria by land area. The capital is Sankt Pölten, but it used to be Vienna before 1921.

Lower Austria is very beautiful. It has many forests, farms, and mountains. The Danube river flows through it, making the land green and lovely. There are also many caves to explore!

People in Lower Austria enjoy living in towns and the countryside. The area has many different traditions because families have come from many places. German is the main language, but you can also hear other languages.

The state has four special regions: Mostviertel, Industrieviertel, Weinviertel, and Waldviertel. Each region has its own special landscape and charm. The Wachau valley is very famous for its pretty views and lovely wine.

Lower Austria is easy to reach. You can fly into Vienna Airport and then take a train or drive to explore. Many people visit to see the beautiful nature and learn about history.
