The M8 Motorway

The M8 is a very busy motorway in Scotland. It connects two big cities: Glasgow and Edinburgh. This helps many people travel between these places every day.

The motorway is 60 miles long and passes through several towns. These include Airdrie, Coatbridge, Greenock, Livingston, and Paisley. There is a special place to stop and rest called Heart of Scotland Services along the way.

The M8 has been very important for many years. It was first planned in the late 1950s to make travel easier. The first part opened in 1965 near Harthill. More parts were added over time. In 2017, the last piece between Newhouse and Baillieston was finished, making travel even better.

The M8 helps connect many places in Scotland. It is part of a big road network that links different parts of the country. People use it to go to work, visit friends, or travel for fun.
