Marble Arch

The arch was built in 1827 by a clever architect named John Nash. It was first placed near Buckingham Palace, where kings and queens live. Later, when the palace grew bigger, the arch was moved to its current spot near Hyde Park. Today, the arch stands proudly at a busy crossroads.

Many visitors come to see Marble Arch because it is a famous part of London. Nearby, you can find a train station with the same name, Marble Arch tube station. The area around the arch is lively, with shops, cafes, and busy streets.

Marble Arch is made from a special kind of marble called Carrara marble, which comes from Italy. The designs on the arch are very pretty, with patterns and shapes that tell old stories. Even though the marble has turned a little gray from London's air, it still looks wonderful.
