The Giant Teeth Shark

A long, long time ago, in the ocean, there was a very special shark called the megalodon. It lived about 23 to 3.58 million years ago. Even though it is not alive today, people still love to learn about this giant fish.

The megalodon was one of the biggest sharks that ever swam. Scientists think it could grow as long as a school bus, maybe even longer! It had very big, strong teeth that helped it catch its food. These teeth were so special that people thousands of years ago used them to make tools and jewelry. They thought the teeth were magical stones that fell from the sky!

Megalodon lived all over the world, in warm, shallow waters near the coast and far out at sea. It liked to eat big sea animals like whales, seals, and sea turtles. Even smaller sharks and fish were part of its meals. Because it was so big and strong, it was one of the top hunters in the ocean.

The world changed a lot when the megalodon lived. The water got colder, and the places where megalodon liked to swim changed too. As the world changed, the food megalodon liked to eat became harder to find. Scientists think these changes helped the megalodon disappear from the ocean many millions of years ago. Even though it is gone, we still find its big teeth in fossils, and they remind us of the amazing giant sharks that once swam the seas.
