The Ming Dynasty

The Ming Dynasty was a special time in China that lasted from 1368 to 1644. It was the last time the Han people, who are the main group of people in China, ruled the country. It started after the Mongol rulers, known as the Yuan Dynasty, left power.

The first ruler of the Ming Dynasty was called the Hongwu Emperor. He wanted to make China strong and safe. He helped build up the army and made sure people had what they needed. Later, another ruler named the Yongle Emperor did something very exciting. He built a huge and beautiful palace called the Forbidden City in Beijing. He also sent a famous sailor, Zheng He, on long trips across the Indian Ocean to meet other countries and trade.

Even though the Ming Dynasty had many good times, later years were tricky. Bad weather and other problems made life harder for people. Eventually, the Ming Dynasty ended, and a new group, the Qing Dynasty, took over. But many people still remember the Ming Dynasty for its beautiful buildings, strong leaders, and important discoveries.
