Niue
Niue is a tiny island country in the South Pacific Ocean. It is part of Polynesia and looks like a triangle. People call it "The Rock" because it is one of the biggest coral islands in the world.
The island sits between Tonga, Samoa, and the Cook Islands. It is far from New Zealand, about 2,400 kilometres away. Niue has land that is mostly flat with cliffs along the coast. A special coral reef surrounds the island, and you can see fish and sea creatures there.
Niue has 14 villages where people live. Each village has its own leaders. The island is quiet and peaceful, with beautiful nature all around. Many families grow their own food, like taro and yams, in their gardens.
Niue is special because it has very dark skies at night. This makes it perfect for looking at the stars. The island became the first place in the world to be named an International Dark Sky Sanctuary. People from all over come to Niue to see the amazing night sky.
