Northern Mariana Islands
The Northern Mariana Islands are a beautiful group of islands in the Pacific Ocean. They are a special part of the United States, called a commonwealth. There are 14 islands, but most people live on three big ones: Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
These islands have a warm, tropical climate, perfect for beaches and nature walks. Saipan is the main island where people live and work. It has colorful buildings and places to explore. The islands are known for their lovely beaches, green forests, and special animals like the Mariana fruit dove.
Long ago, people from nearby places settled here around 1500 BC. The islands changed hands many times, ruled by different countries before becoming a U.S. territory in 1986. Today, the Northern Mariana Islands are a mix of many cultures. People there speak English, Chamorro, and Carolinian, and enjoy foods from many places.
Tourism is important to the islands. Visitors love to swim, dive, and relax on beautiful beaches. They also visit historical sites and enjoy local dishes like tinaktak and kelaguen. The islands have good roads, airports, and hotels to make visitors feel welcome.
The Northern Mariana Islands are a wonderful place to learn about different cultures, enjoy nature, and make lasting memories.
