The Olympic Flame
The Olympic flame is a special symbol used in the Olympic movement. It connects the ancient Olympic Games with the modern ones. The flame is a bright, warm light that makes people feel happy and excited about the Games.
The flame starts in a beautiful ceremony at Olympia, Greece. This is where the ancient Olympic Games began. During this ceremony, the flame is lit using the power of the sun and a mirror. After the flame is lit, it begins a long journey called the Olympic torch relay. The relay carries the flame all the way to the city where the Olympic Games are being held.
When the Olympic Games start, the flame lights a big cauldron in the stadium during the opening ceremony. The flame burns in the cauldron for the whole time the Games are happening. At the end of the Games, during the closing ceremony, the flame is gently put out. This shows that the Games have finished and everyone did their best.
The Olympic flame is a symbol of peace, friendship, and good sportsmanship. It reminds us of the joy and excitement of the Olympic Games and brings people together from all over the world.
