Otter Fishing

Otter fishing is a special way to catch fish using trained otters. People have used this fun method for many years in many parts of the world. Today, this interesting fishing technique is still used in southern Bangladesh.

In Bangladesh, families have kept this tradition alive for many years. Fishermen breed and train otters to help catch fish by chasing them into nets. This makes fishing fun and good for the people who use it. This tradition shows how humans and animals can work together in smart ways.

Otter fishing usually happens at night between 9 PM and 5 AM. A single boat can catch up to 12 kilograms of crabs, fish, and shrimp in one night.
