Overseas France

Overseas France is the name for parts of France that are far away from Europe. These places are islands or pieces of land in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans, and also in South America. They were once part of the old French colonial empire, but they are still linked to France today.

People living in these places are all citizens of France. They can vote in French Parliament elections and European elections. Each place has its own special rules. Some are like the areas in Europe, and others can make more of their own decisions.

Overseas France has many beautiful spots. You can find islands in the ocean, like French Polynesia with its lovely beaches, and Réunion with its green hills. There is also French Guiana in South America, which has a special jungle called the Amazon.
