A Land of Many People

Papua New Guinea is special because it is home to many different groups of people. There are about 840 languages spoken here—more than any other country in the world! Most people live in small villages and work on farms. They grow food for their families and share with neighbors. The largest city is Port Moresby, the capital.

Rich Nature

The country has amazing plants and animals. Its rainforests are some of the biggest in the world and are full of birds, insects, and trees found nowhere else. Many people depend on these natural gifts for their daily lives. The land also has valuable minerals and oil, which help the country grow.

Fun Traditions

Papua New Guinea has colorful traditions. One famous activity is the Kula ring, where people trade special shells and beads to make friends across far distances. Music is also important, with drums, flutes, and shakers used in celebrations. Rugby league is a favorite sport that brings communities together.
