President of Finland
The president of Finland is the head of the country. The current president is Alexander Stubb, who started his job on March 1, 2024. Presidents are chosen by people in Finland for six years, and they can serve two terms.
Finland became its own country, and the president’s job was made in the Constitution Act of 1919. The president works with the Finnish Government and helps with important decisions.
The president lives in special homes, like the Presidential Palace in Helsinki. Every year, there is a big celebration called the "Castle Ball" on December 6 to honor Finland’s independence.
The president helps Finland stay friendly with other countries and gives important speeches, like the New Year’s Speech. People in Finland respect the president for guiding the country.
