Purdue University is a big school in the United States. It is in a town called West Lafayette in Indiana. Many students go there to learn about science, engineering, and many other subjects.

The school started in 1869 thanks to a kind man named John Purdue. He gave money and land to help build the university. The first students began their classes in 1874. Since then, Purdue has grown into a place where students from all over the world come to study.

Purdue University is famous for its strong programs in engineering and aviation. It was the first school in the United States to offer a degree in computer science and to have its own airport. The university is also part of a group called the Big Ten Conference and has teams in many sports, including football and basketball.

Many important people have been connected to Purdue. For example, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the Moon, went to Purdue. The university has a special building named after him. Purdue has also helped many students become leaders in science, business, and sports.

Students at Purdue enjoy many activities on and off campus. There are over 1,000 clubs and organizations to join. Every year, students have fun events like Boiler Gold Rush and Spring Fest. The university also has beautiful places to explore, like the Engineering Fountain and the Purdue Bell Tower.

Purdue University continues to grow and inspire students to achieve great things. It is a place where dreams take flight and students prepare for bright futures.
