Quebec City

Quebec City is the capital city of the Canadian province of Quebec. It is one of the oldest cities in North America because Samuel de Champlain started a French settlement there in 1608. The city has warm summers and cold, snowy winters.

One of the most famous parts of Quebec City is the old area called Vieux-Québec. It has old stone buildings and narrow streets that make it feel like a place in Europe. There are big walls around this area called ramparts, and in 1985, it became a special World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Quebec City is known for its big winter party called the Quebec Winter Carnival, which is the world's largest winter festival. The city also has a pretty park called Parc Victoria and a famous waterfall named Montmorency Falls.

The city has many places to visit, such as the Citadelle of Quebec, which is a big old fort, and the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, a place with lots of art. There is also a fun aquarium called Parc Aquarium du Québec where you can see fish and other sea animals.

Quebec City has a beautiful old hotel named Château Frontenac. It looks like a castle and is very famous. Near the hotel, there is a nice walkway called Terrasse Dufferin with great views of the Saint Lawrence River.

The city also has a big park called The Battlefields Park where you can see old statues and learn about history. There are also many smaller parks and gardens where you can walk and enjoy nature.

Quebec City has teams that play sports like baseball. The Capitales de Québec are a baseball team that plays in a stadium called Stade Canac. The city also has a big arena called Videotron Centre where people can watch hockey games.

People in Quebec City can get around using buses, and there are also bridges like the Quebec Bridge that connect the city to other places. The city has an airport and a port for ships.

Quebec City has many schools and universities, including the big Université Laval. There are also colleges and private schools where children learn.

The city has special friendly connections with cities in other countries, like Bordeaux in France and Calgary in Alberta. These are called "sister cities."
