Río Muni

Río Muni is the part of Equatorial Guinea that is on the mainland. It is also called Mbini in the Fang language. This area is very important because it connects the country to the Atlantic Ocean and its neighbors.

Río Muni shares borders with Cameroon to the north, Gabon to the east and south, and the Gulf of Guinea to the west. The name Río Muni comes from the Muni River, where early visitors built their homes.

The biggest city in Río Muni is Bata. It is where many important jobs happen. Other towns include Evinayong, Ebebiyín, and Mbini. People there speak Fang-Ntumu, Fang-Okak, and Spanish.

Río Muni has five provinces: Centro Sur, Djibloho, Kié-Ntem, Litoral, and Wele-Nzas. These provinces help organize the area and its people.
