Rings (gymnastics)
Adapted from Wikipedia · Explorer experience
Gymnastics rings are a special piece of equipment used in artistic gymnastics by male gymnasts. The rings look like two big circles hanging from a metal frame. Gymnasts hold onto the rings with both hands and perform amazing swings and holds. This sport needs a lot of upper body strength, balance, and control.
Gymnasts usually wear special items called ring grips to help them hold the rings better during their routines. These grips are like small pads that make it easier to grip the rings. The rings are different from flying rings, which are used in aerial arts and look a bit different.
The gymnastics rings are used in big competitions like the Olympics. There, the best gymnasts from all over the world show off their skills. One famous move is called the Iron Cross, where the gymnast holds their arms out straight to the sides while hanging in the air for a few seconds. It’s a test of strength, control, and skill!
