Road running is a fun way for people to run on real roads. It is different from running on a track or through forests. People run long distances, like 5 kilometers or even a marathon, which is 42 kilometers!

These races often happen in big cities or towns. Everyone can join, no matter how fast they run. Beginners and experienced runners all run together. Some races even let people in wheelchairs join, and some have special walks using Nordic Walking.

Road running is enjoyed all around the world. It helps people stay healthy and have fun. Many races also help raise money for important causes, like breast cancer research. Running outside on roads helps strengthen muscles and bones.

The rules for road running are made by World Athletics. They make sure races are safe and fair. People from many countries take part in big races, like the World Marathon Majors. Whether you run fast or slow, road running is a great activity for everyone!
