Roald Dahl was a wonderful storyteller who wrote some of the most loved books for children. He was born in 1916 in Cardiff, Wales, to parents from Norway. He grew up speaking Norwegian at home and loved reading and telling stories.
Dahl’s books are famous all around the world. Some of his most popular stories include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, and Matilda. His tales often feature clever children who outsmart tricky grown-ups, but always with kindness and humor.
