Ronald Reagan
Ronald Wilson Reagan was a kind and friendly man who became the 40th president of the United States. He was born on February 6, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois. His mother, Nelle Clyde Wilson, loved to read and pray, and his father, Jack Reagan, worked very hard to take care of the family.
Before becoming a leader, Reagan was a famous actor in movies. He acted in many films and even hosted a television show called General Electric Theater. People liked to watch him because he was funny and easy to understand.
In 1981, Reagan became the president of the United States. During his time as president, he tried to help the country’s economy by changing tax laws. He also worked with leaders from other countries to keep the world safe. Many people remember him for his clear speaking and friendly ways.
Sadly, later in life, Reagan learned he had an illness called Alzheimer's disease. This made it hard for him to remember things. He passed away on June 5, 2004, but people still remember him as a great leader who cared about his country. Today, there is a special library called the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library where people can learn more about his life.
