Welcome to Salisbury
Salisbury is a lovely city in Wiltshire, England. It is where three rivers—the Avon, Nadder, and Bourne—meet. The city is close to big cities like Southampton and Bath.
Old and New Salisbury
Long ago, there was an old cathedral north of the city at a place called Old Sarum. Later, a beautiful new cathedral was built near the rivers. A village grew around it and became the city we know today. In 1227, Salisbury got special permission to call itself a city and was named New Sarum for a time.
