Santo Domingo Este is a busy and growing place in the Dominican Republic. It is the capital of the Santo Domingo province. Many families live here, and it is mainly a place where people have homes.

The area is on the other side of the Ozama River from the main city. It has many shops, places to eat, and new buildings going up. You can visit fun spots like Los Tres Ojos, a special park with beautiful caves, and the Faro a Colón, a tall lighthouse.

Santo Domingo Este became its own area in 2001. Before that, it was part of another bigger city area called the Distrito Nacional. Now, it has its own local leaders and government.

There are many places to explore, like big shopping centers and busy streets. It is a place where people can work, live, and have fun together.
