Savonius Wind Turbine
A Savonius wind turbine is a special kind of machine that uses wind to make useful energy. It spins when the wind blows and can help power things like lights and gadgets. These turbines have curved parts that catch the wind and make them turn in a circle.
The Savonius turbine was invented by a clever engineer named Sigurd Johannes Savonius from Finland in 1922. He made it to help turn wind into energy in a simple way. People had thought about curved wind machines for a long time before him, but he was the first to build it properly.
These turbines are strong and can work even when the wind is not very strong. They are used in many places, like on boats far from land, to make a little electricity. They are also used on tops of buses and vans to help move air and keep things cool.
Because they are simple and do not need to face the wind just right, Savonius turbines are great for jobs where it is important to keep things working well without spending a lot of money. They spin slowly but steadily, making them useful and quiet machines for clean energy.
