Welcome to South Korea!

South Korea is a bright and exciting country in East Asia. It sits on the southern part of the Korean Peninsula, with the Yellow Sea to its west and the Sea of Japan to its east. Its biggest city, Seoul, is full of tall buildings, busy streets, and amazing places to see.

A Land of Change

Long ago, three big kingdoms—Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla—ruled this land. They built wonderful temples and made beautiful art. After World War II, Korea was split into two parts. South Korea grew very fast, becoming known for its smart technology and fun pop culture.

Fun and Famous

South Korea is famous for many things! People around the world love its music, called K-pop, and its TV shows, called K-dramas. The country makes great phones, computers, and even robots. You can find South Korean dishes like kimchi in many places. One special sport from Korea is taekwondo, a martial art where people kick very high!

Everyday Life

Life in South Korea is busy but friendly. Kids go to school for many years and often study hard. Families celebrate special days like the Korean New Year, when everyone visits their grandparents and enjoys tasty food. People love to watch sports, especially football (soccer) and baseball.

Explore and Discover

South Korea has many beautiful spots. The Seoraksan mountains are perfect for hiking, and Jeju Island has a quiet volcano and pretty beaches. In Seoul, you can visit old palaces and modern museums. No matter where you look, South Korea shows its mix of old traditions and new ideas.
