The United States Space Force is a special part of the military that takes care of our country’s work in space. It started in 2019 and is one of the six armed forces in the United States. The Space Force works to keep our space systems safe and make sure we can move and operate freely in space.

The Space Force has three main jobs: controlling space, supporting global missions, and making sure we can always get to space. It protects spacecraft from dangers and helps other parts of the military by giving them important information, communication, and navigation support.

The Space Force is led by the chief of space operations, and it works under the Department of the Air Force. There are plans for it to become fully independent in the future.

The Space Force has many bases across the United States and other countries. Some of its important bases include Buckley Space Force Base, Peterson Space Force Base, and Vandenberg Space Force Base.

The Space Force uses many different spacecraft and space systems to do its job. Some of these include the Global Positioning System (GPS), which helps with positioning, navigation, and timing, and the Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS), which helps with missile warning and defense.

The Space Force is always working to update its tools and stay ahead of new challenges. It is excited about new projects like the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) and the Navigation Technology Satellite-3 (NTS-3), which will help watch objects in space and improve GPS signals.

The Space Force has a budget that grows each year to support its important work. In 2024, its budget was around $29.5 billion, and it is expected to grow even more in the coming years.

The Space Force is an important part of keeping our country safe and strong in the growing world of space exploration and technology.
