The Vedas
The Vedas are very old books from ancient India. They are written in a special language called Vedic Sanskrit and are important to people who follow Hinduism. These books tell us about old traditions and beliefs.
There are four Vedas: the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda, and the Atharvaveda. Each Veda has different parts. The Rigveda has many poems and songs. The Yajurveda has words used in special ceremonies. The Samaveda has songs from the Rigveda, and the Atharvaveda has poems about health and daily life.
People in India have shared these books by speaking them out loud for thousands of years. Even today, some people still say parts of the Vedas. They believe the Vedas are eternal and wise, not written by any person but shared by ancient teachers.
The word "Veda" means "knowledge" or "wisdom" in Sanskrit. These books help us learn about life and beliefs from long ago in India. They are like a treasure of old poems, songs, and ideas that many people still value today.
