Some animals and plants need extra care to stay safe. These are called vulnerable species.

A vulnerable species is one that might disappear if we don't help. Their homes can be changed or destroyed, making it hard for them to live and have babies. Scientists work hard to watch over these special places and animals.

One example is the African leopard. People are also helping by raising some animals in safe places, like the military macaw. This gives these animals a better chance to grow and stay healthy.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature has special rules to decide which species need this help. They look at things like if a home is disappearing, if too many are caught, or if they can't have enough babies. By keeping an eye on these species, we can help make sure they don't vanish from our world.
