The Weser is a long river that flows only through Germany. It is the longest river that stays completely inside the country.

The Weser starts in the Thuringian Forest where two smaller rivers, the Werra and the Fulda, join at Hannoversch Münden. From there, it travels north through beautiful landscapes. It passes the important Hanseatic city of Bremen.

The river ends near the North Sea, close to the ports of Bremerhaven and Nordenham. The Weser is very important for ships and helps connect different places. It also flows by the Butjadingen Peninsula before spreading out into the sea.

People have known the Weser for a long time. It appears in old stories, like the Pied Piper of Hamelin. The river is also a popular place to visit and enjoy nature.
