What is World Aquatics?

World Aquatics is a special group that helps organize fun water sports around the world. They make sure everyone plays fairly and safely in swimming, diving, and other water games. People know about them because they hold big competitions where athletes from many countries come to race and show their skills.

Where Did It Start?

World Aquatics began a long time ago, in 1908, in London, England. Eight countries came together to make rules for water sports. Today, the group works from Lausanne, Switzerland, but it plans to move to Budapest, Hungary, soon.

Fun Water Sports

World Aquatics looks after six main water sports:

They also have special events for older athletes, called the World Aquatics Masters Championships. These are for people who are 25 years old and older.

Big Competitions

The biggest event they organize is the World Aquatics Championships. This happens every two years, and athletes compete in all six water sports. There are also other fun events like the World Open Water Swimming Championships and the World Masters Championships. These let swimmers of all ages show how fast and skilled they are.

World Aquatics makes sure everyone can enjoy water sports, no matter where they are from!
